A ROYAL MOMENT IN HISTORY
This year, we proudly celebrate 55 years of Royal Designation—a legacy of excellence, tradition, and community spirit that contin- ues to thrive. Join us as we honour this remarkable milestone and look forward to many more years of history in the making!
On July 12, 1970, Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II visited Bran- don, Manitoba, to commemorate the province’s centennial. During this visit, she granted the presti- gious “Royal” designation to the Manitoba Winter Fair, elevating it to the Royal Manitoba Winter Fair we cherish today. This historic event marked a significant mile- stone, reflecting the fair’s impor- tance in our community and its longstanding agricultural tradi- tions.

HONOURING THE PIONEERS OF THE ROYAL MANITOBA WINTER FAIR
The Royal Manitoba Winter Fair stands as a testament to the dedica- tion and vision of those who shaped its legacy. Since its early years, count- less individuals—organizers, exhib- itors, and volunteers—have worked tirelessly to build an event that show- cases the best in agriculture, horse- manship, and community spirit. This 1968 photo is a glimpse into the rich history of the fair, a time when passionate leaders and innova- tors were laying the foundation for fu- ture generations. Their commitment to excellence and tradition continues to inspire us today. As we celebrate our past, we also look ahead to the future—honoring those who made the RMWF what it is and those who will carry its legacy forward.
