March 31 to be Health-care Workers Day at the winter fair
During this year’s Roy- al Manitoba Winter Fair, health-care workers will be recognized with compli- mentary tickets as a thank you for their ongoing com- mitment to the community. This is the second year in the row that the Provin- cial Exhibition is putting heath-care workers in the spotlight during the event, which runs from March 27 to April 1 at Brandon’s Key- stone Centre. Organizers will go one step further to honour the workers by naming Friday, March 31 “Health-Care Workers Day.” Almost 500 health-care
workers from across the Prairie Mountain Health region will be invited to spend a free day at the fair, said Provincial Exhibition of Manitoba general man- ager Mark Humphries. “Thanks to our friends at Prairie Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep and Ram, hundreds of health-care workers and their families will have a chance to enjoy the sights and sounds of the Royal Manitoba Winter Fair.” The complimentary tickets for the health-care workers will be made possi- ble through sponsorship of the Prairie Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep and Ram retailers.
The
president
of
the retailers, Kevin Schumacher, said even after the tough times of the COVID-19 pandemic, work- ers continue to show they care. “We figure it’s
the least that we could do for the people who do so much for us. It’s our way of saying ‘thanks, we see you and appreciate you,’” said Schumacher. In addition to saluting western Manitoba’s health- care workers, Your Prairie Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep and
Ram Retailers will serve as pre- senting sponsor of the annual Horse Dog Relay Wednesday, March 29 in Westoba Place.
